Looking for Love
Overview:
This project explores whether an interactive performance-based piece could prompt people to reconsider their relationship with Artificial Intelligence. The piece, which takes the form of a mobile phone application, is played over two weeks. Players are requested to train an Artificial Intelligence “character” so as to become a replacement love interest for future humans; humans who may be unable to find love or who need a love interest while they are waiting for a suitable partner to come along. The piece combines human-scripted material with an improvising chat bot in an act of collaboration between human and artificial intelligence.
